Privacy

This is a personal site. Here is what it collects, why, and how to have it removed.

Who is responsible

Me, Francesc Pla Prats. For anything on this page, email me at francesc.pla [at] gmail.com.

Analytics

The site uses Umami to count visits and see which pages get read. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, so there is nothing to accept. It records the page, where you came from, your browser, operating system, device type and language, and your approximate location. It does not keep your IP address. I see totals, not who you are. Counting visits is a legitimate interest, which is the legal basis, and the data is kept for 6 months. Blocking it changes nothing about how the site works.

Newsletter

If you subscribe, I store:

  • your email address
  • when you signed up, confirmed and, if you do, unsubscribed
  • for each email I send you: whether it was delivered, whether you opened it, and which links you clicked

I use it to send you new posts and to see which ones get read. You subscribe by confirming a link sent to your inbox, and you can unsubscribe from any email with one click. The address is never sold or shared.

The legal basis is your consent, which you give by confirming and withdraw by unsubscribing. I keep your data for as long as you stay subscribed.

The list lives on my own server. The emails are sent through Resend.

A sign-up that is never confirmed is deleted after 30 days. When you unsubscribe, I keep your address marked as unsubscribed so it is never emailed again by mistake, which is a legitimate interest of mine and yours. If you would rather it were deleted completely, email me and I will do it.

Server logs

Like any web server, mine records IP addresses and the pages requested. I use the logs only to keep the site secure and to fix problems, which is the legitimate interest they rest on. They are deleted after 14 days.

Outside the EU

Resend and Umami are US companies, so some of this data may be processed outside the EU. Resend is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission recognises as giving adequate protection. Umami processes analytics under a data processing agreement.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what I hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, object to how I use it, or withdraw your consent at any time. Email me and I will reply within a month. If you think I have handled your data badly, you can also complain to the Spanish data protection authority, the AEPD.
